STRENGHTENING PARENTING COMPETENCIES IN FAMILIES ENDANGERED BY A DYSFUNCTION

The project consists of the services of secondary prevention (according to the definition of the National Action Plan on Transformation and Unification of the System of Care for Endangered Children – NAP whose realization and coordination have been delegated to the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic) for endangered families who cannot be included in social activization services for families with children. The activities of the project have not been “ordered” by the parents therefore they cannot be the users of the social services according to the Social Services Act. The necessity of cooperation of the parents with STREP is usually noticed by a social worker of social-legal protection of children (state administration) who has perceived that the child has been at risk owing to the insufficient parenting competencies and family conditions for his/her upbringing. :

The aim of the project is to work on reducing uncertainties of the parents and dysfunctions in upbringing, to stop the aggravation in the social situation of the families. The parents are usually becoming the clients of the project on the basis of recommendation of social-legal protection of children or custodial courts.

The project is in accordance with the NAP.
